How to connect Atlas remote switch wires?

Does anyone have a good way of connecting the tiny Atlas HO remote switch machine wires to feeder wires? I’ve been using 20 gage feeders. Should I use something smaller? I am using DCC controllers for the switches.

The best thing I have found is four strand telephone wire. It’s cheap and readily available. You have one more wire than you need but that is easily cutoff at each end. I find this gauge wire to be the perfect size for the Atlas components. It is easy to bend it and loop it around the terminal connections. It is also has the advanatage of being color coded.

I agree that the 4 wire phone cable is the best.

I should have mentioned that I use mostly undermounted Atlas switch machines so I have screw connections at both ends. I do use the top mounts in my staging yard and to connect these to the short feeder wires that are preinstalled on the Atlas switch machines, I use small wire nuts. The hardest part for me is stripping the switch machine wires without breaking the metal strand as well. I use the old incisor stripper and carefully work the insulation free.
