So, okay, I’m trying to log out and I get a message that now says “oops, the link appears to be broken”. Earlier it was a different message.
We having a glitch, or is there a different proceedure other than clicking on the log out?

When you find out let me know. All I get is a ‘Server Error - 404 - Directory or File Not Found’.
Nothing that I noticed yet. But this seems a little confusing here
Yup, tried it again and got that same message.
Who logs out? I just clsoe my browser window, then when I come back, I don’t have to keep typing my password.
Actually - quite pleasantly surprised, with this update I did not have to log in again. Usually when there is maintenance, or an update, I need to log in once.

You can’t log out because the aliens have taken over and are using your computers address to send the zombies to your house.

Clear your cookies and then hit refresh. I just did it and I was logged out.
OK, that worked for me. Trouble is now that I’m logged back in I’ll have to clear my cookies again before I can log out again.
I never log out either. No reason to be, just adds hassle typing in passwords all the time.
I have firefox set up to dump the cookies, history and temp files everytime I close the browser. Then I have my pwords and IDs stored on most sites except financial, which I type manually.
Why log out? I belong to a large club which has a library that has most of the hobby magazines ever published (MR, Trains, RMC, NG&SLG, MRing, MM, etc.). The MR Magazine Index is very useful in our club library because we have an online PC used pretty much just for that and other online research. But in order to access the free MR Index here, you have to be logged into one’s account. So I routinely log on at the club to look for something on the MR Index, then when I’m done, I want to log off. Why? So one of my fellow members or club visitors can’t pretend I’m me and post perhaps colorful statements or NSFW pictures in my name on the forums. Some of my fellow members think they are funny, and I wouldn’t put it past them to do something like that.
So yes, logging off is a requirement for me when I’m at my club.

I find that going to other Trains forums works the easiest to log in and out. Subscriber friend, wanted to log on, seemed the only way to change. A bit of a pain, but saved doing all the stuff some of you have mentioned doing. Still irritating to have some of the words cut off in some posts, but that’s another problem. Good luck, Richard
I have to log in every time, no matter what. With the update there is no check box to stay logged in.
Is anyone else having trouble with logging in with IE 11? I can get here if I am logged out and cleared my cookies but cannot log in with IE11. I can get to it through firefox but that is not what is use. It seems the new web master or software company does not like playing with Microsoft
To log in with IE 11, go to the tools/settings tab next to the favorites tab, go to “compatibility view settings”, and add trains.com to the list.
that did it… thanks!
