Excellent and very informative video. I have a small Dremel lathe I am going to experiment with and try your technique.
Just a suggestion, I would recommend that you take the time to mention safety such as goggles or glasses while operating the lathe and painting and some sort of breathing protector in your paint room.

Very nice video. I hand build each of my trees for my HO scale layout. I think of each tree as a seperate modeling project. Small trees are the hardest to make so watching your video has given me some ideas that will be based on your technique.
