How to post pics?

I am in the process of building my first layout and at times I have questions and would like to know how to post pictures on this forum when I need to show something. How do I do it?

I found photobucket .com also works well.

Thanks Art, I’m in the middle of trying Shutterbug. I’d like to show you guys my pics of my layout in it’s infancy, hope this works!

cspmo,
Don’t know if I’m just not savey enough or what, but I’m pretty goodm with computers, I’ll try something else because I can’t post with the instructions given.

www.photobucket.com is SUPER easy !!! I’m lucky I can even turn my computer on, and I have no problems posting pics with photobucket.

accord1959,

Let me see if I can help you to understand how to post pictures. Go to www.photobucket.com and set up a free account. You’ll have to create a user name and password, just like you did to join this forum. Click on the bright red button that says “Register Now” and follow the easy instructions that appear. Once you have your account set up, create a photo album. You could call it “New Layout Pictures” for example. Once you create the album name, you’ll see it in blue letters on your photobucket page.

Click on that link to your layout pictures and you’ll be taken to your album page. Click on the “browse” button to find pictures on your pc to upload to your album. Double-click the photo you wi***o upload and the name will be filled in on the upload screen. Click the ‘Upload’ button and your picture will be copied from your pc to the photobucket web site onto your album page. When you see your photo appear, look beneath your photo. You’ll see three boxes: Url, Tag and Img. Click on the text in the URL box and when it’s highlighted, right click and select ‘copy’.

Now you’re ready to post your pictures here on this forum. Click on Post New Topic to create something new or if you wi***o add a picture to a response, select the “Reply to topic” instead of the ‘Quick reply’ and you’ll see a dialogue box open for you to reply. On the line that is labeled Format, click on the icon just to the left of the #. That’s the icon you need to use to insert an image. Whan you click that icon, you’ll see “[ img ] [ /img ]”. Put your mouse arrow between the 2 sets of brackets, then click to get the cursor to blink there. Right click, select Paste and the url for your picture will be inserted between the brackets. You’ve now inserted a picture in your post. Continue with your text until completed and either preview your post to see if it worked, or hit post new reply to try your results.

I hope I didn’t confuse you with this being so wordy…feel free to a

Well I keep getting annoyed and I give up, You don’t just click on the site as said and it’s that easy, either they give you a detailed route or you’re in the blank. Now I am a professional by trade, I know more than the basics, but if there was ever a less
co-ordinated site, I don’t know who would lose, niether is user friendly.

This one seems to give more trouble than enough. In the short time I have been using the forum many people have asked the same. I was lucky to pick it up off someone else’s post early in the piece.

I have not used photobucket. I imagine it is quite similar to the one that I use. However, if you are not getting anywhere, or think photobucket is less than user friendly, try this one:

Sincerely hope that this helps.

thanks don z. i got the pics to open up when you open the topic instead of the address
