How to reference steam engines??

I know my diesles, but I want to learn about the steam engines, like manufactures, and types, can anybody reccommend any good reading?

But it’s better to get a few dozen books on the subject [:D], or buy http://store.yahoo.net/kalmbachcatalog/01001.html

That should be enough to get you started on a very deep subject. [:)]
