My Greatest Find-
In the year 1994 Lionel Trains Inc. was looking for ways to exhibit their new Railsounds II and came upon an unlikly source. The Milwaukee Road as one of the Midwest Railroads was not among the Railroads with powerhouse engines, so Lionel decided to equip one of their SD-40s with the Railsounds system and instead of a Dummy second unit added a second power unit. Also included was a bay-window caboose painted to match. When it came out- collectors did not appreciate it because 1) It required a 90 watt or better transformer and 2) it required 2 or 3 minutes to build up the capacitor. The second unit had a horn that sounded nothing like a diesel horn, and it was shelved too. But they overlooked the fact that these engines in tandem will pull 100 cars if you can find a layout big enough to hold 100. These two engines have great sounds and although they are not equipped with TMC and you have a non-TMC layout, they will pull anything you put on it. Lionel numbers are 6-18223 and 6-19224. Caboose is 6-16565
