Is the track nailed down onto roadbed or glued to something? Is their ballast glued on?

It depends how it was attached.

If it was attached with Tacky Glue or similar, you can run a putty knife between the track and the road be, and gently pry the track up. The Tacky Glue remaining on the ties can pulled and pushed off.

If the track was attached with some other method, you will have to give us more information for any suggestions.

I forgot to say the track is ballast and glued down with 50%white glue&50%water sorry about first time using forum

i have taken up a lot of track that has been fastened down just like you stated.take some wet water(water which has several drops or more of dish washing liquid added to it) spray this on pretty heavy and wait for ten minutes or more.you should be able to crumble the ballast pretty easy by now.you can use a putty knife and slowly start removing the track from your roadbed.don’t be afraid to use more wet water.i’ve saved turnout’s,flex, and sectional track many time’s doing it this way.terry…
