Thought I would post a tip, sort of a “pay it back” for the many helpful tips I’ve received from this forum.
I was getting ready to transfer my test plan to the top of the layout and had printed it out in 1:1 from XtrkCad. I though using the old black tracing paper would do it but had none; So, I asked my better half.
When sewing, my wife uses this kind of tracing paper that you can get at Walmart or any fabric store. I do not know what the current cost is. This is some stuff my wife has had for almost 20 years. And I thought I was a pack rat. [;)]. You can use the sheets several times.
Lay the colored tracing paper color side down and the plan on top. That small pencil looking thing is called a stylus and again can be picked up for about $4 or so for a set of a few different sizes (current price [:)]). Again, Walmart carries them in the fabric department. The stylus has a ball on each end vs. a point.
Next, using the stylus, trace along the center line or whatever shape you are transferring with a slight pressure of the stylus.
I was using red paper here which IMHO is a little hard to see depending on the color of the board being transferred to. Regular plywood would show up good. I found the blue color shows up really well on this.
Hope this helps someone and have fun.
