How to wire Peco PL-10E Switch Machine

Hello, I’ve come into 5L/5R Peco Large TOs with no instructions and wish to use the PL-10E switch machine. I’ve seen discussions on how to mount the PL-10E but no information on how to wire them. I’m familiar with the Atlas 2700/2701 remote switches but not the PL-10E. Can someone let me know how or point me to a link that explains how. Thanks Ron Thanks for your time

You should see 4 metal tabs, one at each corner of the point motor (that’s what Peco calls them). There are two coils with an actuating pin sticking up the middle. The two coils pull the pin one way or the other to move the turnout. The two metal tabs at the ends of each coil energize that coil when electricity is applied to them.

Join one of the tabs at one end of the point motor to the tab at the other end of the point motor on the same side with a piece of hookup wire. That is, the wire will be running the long way along the point motor. Connect one side of your power source to those joined tabs. This is the common connection. Connect each of the other two tabs, one at each end of the point motor to the outside terminals of a single-pole, centre-off MOMENTARY toggle switch. Connect the centre terminal of the toggle switch to the other side of your power source. To operate, just flip the toggle switch one way or the other to energize one coil or the other. The Pecos take 12 to 16 volts, A.C. or D.C., but they do seem quieter on D.C. You can use the aux. terminals of an old power pack.

If you prefer pushbuttons to a toggle switch, use MOMENTARY normally-open pushbuttons. Join one terminal of each pushbutton together and connect that to the other side of your power source. Connect the two wires coming back from the point motor to the remaining terminals on the two pushbuttons.

Hope this is clear enough.
