How's this look for a container stack?

This is a container stack I made from one of the sites that paper containers can be downloaded from. This is a stack of 8 with a single on top and another single beside it. All paper.

Here’s the site address: http://home.wanadoo.nl/schatborn/index2.html

And here is a stack of 8 20’s, a stack 4 40’s and 2 singles.

Nice look ! Great way to make a large stack at intermodal yards or shipping companies. Do they match the size of plastic containers ?

Looks like a container stack to me. When’s the ship comin in?

For these containers, I went to this site: http://home.wanadoo.nl/schatborn/index2.html

The pictures are all jpeg format. Just right click, copy, save. Load the saved jpeg document into MS Paint, click Image, select Stretch and skew, set horizontal and vertical to 110%. Set printer to Landscape orientation, size 8.5 x 11, Quality normal. Print, cutout, glue and voilà! you have one container stack.

The post at the start of this thread has been edited to include a stack of 4 40 ft containers. Just so you dont have to go back there, I brought the pic here.

Hows that for versatality.

Better get 'em while they’re free, boys.

The pic I have above has been added to the website that I downloaded my containers from. How’s that for recognition?

Martin,

I have a few of these printed up but the glue let go got humid in the basements little note dont use glue stick. As for the size of the container it does seem like they are equal to the size of the plastic ones.

They’re onto you Jeff maybe you better surrender peacefully…![swg]

Jeff,

What about that giant container in the background? [swg] Does your layout pass right under your AC?

Tom

hey jeffrey check out on the bottom of that page

American trailers Ken built in H0 built

How long before we see these on someone’s layout? LOL

Two things:

  1. I like the containers- now that I’ve got a reliable color printer, I may need to do some of this.
  2. Unfortunately, I don’t think that long containers (40+‘) have support/clamps in the middle. Thus, it isn’t prototypical to have a 20’ container on top of other containers. IIRC, one may stack LONG containers on top of a pair of 20s, but not 20s on top of long.
I’m not REALLY a rivet-counter, but this did pop into my mind.

Thanks for sharing, though… really!

Thanks for the compliments and comments guys, it’s really appreciated.

About the layout and the AC, the track passes about 4 inches from the front of the AC unit.

Hey, Ken, yeah, I saw your trailers there. They look pretty good.

I got a big compliment today. Mr Schatborn, the creator of the containers I’ve been pushing on the thread, has joined my forum. I don’t mnow whether to laugh, jump up and down or go shopping.
