NPR is reporting that the Wolverine is now running at 110 mph in Michigan. This is the only place other than the Northeast Corridor where Amtrak runs that fast. Maybe we are making progress getting the message out.
I guess today was the PR trip…there’s also an article in the Trains Newswire, with a lot of the same quotes I heard on the local TV news.
But the speed has been 110 since February 7, and yesterday I took my own trip over this stretch, as reported in the “Trackside Lounge” at about the time that those guys were still in the train.
Glad you were able to ride it, Carl. Sadly, a lot of the responses to a post I put up about this a week ago mostly met with the usual negatives from the usual cast of naysayers…
