Huge Midwest Blizzard.

Winds gusting well over 60 to 70 mph. Snow falling to the rate of 1 to 2 inches an hour. White out conditions. What else could go wrong. Interstate 80 from Lincoln to North Platte closed due to this Powerfull Winter Storm. I have knotced that there are hardly any UP Trains running on the Blair sub today. I did see one Eastbound earlyer. Does anyone know if this Huge Blizzard is haveing a major inpact with the UP and the BNSF Railway’s Traffic flows on the East West Overland Route here in Nebraska? Everyone Please stay safe out there. This is one HELL of a Storm. I understand that North Platte had well over a Foot and a Half of Snow and Drifts well over 4ft too.
Thanks,Allan.

Send the storm to Philadelphia, we need some snow over here desperately.

Sorry to hear of the bad driving and train handeling conditions. I hope everything goes well in that respect.

…Sounds to me like Allan is describing a winter storm that can be deadly…Hope it misses our area…Jen are you in the middle of all that…?

Hey I heard you guys got about a foot of ice in areas. And you can have it in Philly as long as it misses my area The looks of it its coming but I dont think we are going to get hammered here.
Oh well tis the season. Stay safe man.

Add southeast S.D. to that list.[xx(]. “Blizzard warning” untill 4:00 a.m. Tuesday.

Bite your tongue, young lady…Philly railroads don’t need any snow.

It isn’t the depth of the snow - IT’S THE WIND IT’S COMING WITH![:O][:O][:O]

Welcome to a NORMAL Wyoming winter storm.

You even noticed? [:D]

Blizzard?
What blizzard…oh, that white fluffy stuff that screws up cars and deer hunting?
Or a east Texas switchman?

(ok, now you can start picking on the name)

Ed

Aw, we’re used to it up here, but we COULD use some right now! Not enough for great skiing or snow shots…I hope there aren’t many deaths from this.

What’s going to “stay frosty” longer–the brakeman or the fluffy stuff?

(In Chi-town we’ve got the wind, but no precip yet. Temperature has dropped to just above freezing, as we speak, from a high of 58. We may wake up to some rough traveling tomorrow, which I can opt out of, since it’s my day off.)

LOL!!!
I did because it was the first big storm and people dont remember how to drive in it, Then the wind blew all the snow away. [:D]

My brother called me from Wichita Sunday. Said they were under a tornado watch for Sunday and ice for Monday. Only in the midwest…

I would giggle like crazy if we got a good central PA snow here in philly. People can’t drive here normally, so snow would clear the most idiots out of my way.

Well live in southern Florida & no worries what you posted. [:o)]

Have up Rochelle & Ft. Madison cams & so far no snow at either spot. [:(]

It missed us by just a hair - went just north of us - did give us a great rain before it got here, tho. Central Nebraska is a mess and we all shared the wind. Now it is everyone east of us that will be a mess. North - blizzard and south - rain and bad weather and a Houston Blysard…

Moo!

My duaghter left here Sunday to go back to Nevada. She called yesterday afternoon from somewhere in the middle of Nebraska and said, “They blocked off I-80. Can they do that?” I said yeah, sure. She said why? I asked how far can you see? 100 ft. How about the wind? Oh yeah, there’s a truck blown over in the ditch. Not to worry though, she called from a hotel room, so she was at least smart enough to get a room, plus it sounded like a party going on in the background.

Here in IL, it was 58 yesterday; today might make it to 30 but only flurries (and wind!).

We already had 2 blizzards here , time to get the Russells out !
