Hullet Unloader in N scale?

Hi from Belgium,

Did anyone know if Walthers project to offer them in Nscale?

Did anyone have plans of reports of scratchbuilding projects and photos of this monster in Nscale?

Marc

This is probably another case where N scalers have more workable room for a Hullet, but Walther’s won’t sell enough in HO to justify in their minds a run in N. The machine is big enough on its own, but when you add in the fact that a plausible scene for one in HO could end up being 12’ long, or more… and you can see that they might have a hard time moving enough product to pay for the tooling. I’m sure there will be some big ore facilities jammed into the typical HO 4x8 donut, but not enough to make a dent in the cost of the model.

Railroad Model Craftsman did this about a year ago. Really good article, it’s what brought the Hullets into my life. The guy did a b[soapbox]n job. All scratch built, N scale, even came with life sized N scale drawings of the parts. I will get it for you tomorrow, I can’t remember which one it is. Plus I have to look through it, if there is nothing else in that issue that I want I can also just snail mail the entire issue to you, or just that article.

Hi from Belgium,

Nice to heard that something could be done in Nscale.

You are very kindly if you can send me the article about the hullet, I don’t need the entire issue.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Marc

I recently completed a scratch built Hulett in N based on he Oct 1997 RMC article. It took me 3 1/2 months to do. The article is NOT very complete and you have to do your own design work ona lot of the pars as he just mentions them without any explanation. If you take your time it really okks good.

I will have to boot up my scanner today and get it digitally copied. I didn’t realize you were from Belgium. Now that would be a heck of a lot of stamps.
