Can anyone tell me the right mix of Humbrol (enamel) paint to solvent, for airbruching? And what is the best mixing solvent that I can use. Thanks
That Humbrol paint is thick stuff. I’m not sure of a specific ratio for airbrushing. I’ve always looked for a consistancy that that sprays well, without spattering, and that still covers fairly well. As for the solvent, it is always a good idea to use the paint manufacturer’s own thinner to cut the paint. Clean up can be done with generic mineral spirits.
I like to thin with laquer thinner in model master size bottles, ster humbrol well, pore half in bottle, add thinner, about as thick as milk, works great in my badger goes on thin and cavers well,as many colors as they have you can mix your own,
