Hunting for a OO scale Lionel Hudson

I am hunting for a OO scale Lionel hudson, prefer the superdetailed version. Will buy just the locomotive or the whole set. I am wanting to make a small christmas display using the odd OO Lionel stuff. Thanks Mike

I have one but am not interested in selling it. I’ll just comment that you’ll probably need to put in a diligent search to find a good one… I have seen far fewer of them than many other “scarce” engines such as prewar 3/16th’s flyer 4-8-4’s etc. I have been waiting for a tender to show up at the right price for about 15 years now to match the 001…

Good luck though, they are a sweet little engine and very worth the effort.

BTW, track may be harder to locate than the stinking train!!!

Hiya Neighbor, I live over in Kokomo. I have the high bid on a simple detail one, but no tender. I am also have some track located. I used to have a nice 001 3 rail complete set with a load of tru scale track that I got from Harmons trains many years ago. I used to be his mechanic and just moved back into the area after living in PA state for about 8 years. I will find it all in time. I wish I didnt sell the set I had, but I was layed off and keeping the bills paid was more important than trains at that time. Cheers Mike and Michele T

OO Hudsons, Things to look for:

3 rail scale, 1938 only, 1939-41—1939-41 Semi-scale (same castings, little hand applied detail, less Valve Gear linkage)

2 rail scale 1939-41 — 1939-41 Semi-scale

(tender connection and driver rims are different on the 1938 version, as are the cars)

All come with OR without Whistle.

3 kinds of track, 1938 3 Rail, 1939-41 3 rail, 1939-41 2 rail.

3 rail switches, prepaired to give an “arm and a leg” very, very rare.

I love my 3 OO sets, they are the pride of my Lionel Collection.

OO locomotives and set do show up often at the TCA York meets, Locomotives $300-$400 range, sets $800-$1200, track $10 a section, switches $150-$200 a pair. Sometimes “deals” can be made if the member needs the sale.
