I bit the bullet

And ordered a Non Sound Rivarossi Allegheny–Was a tough decision

Price is high but at 75 I have a hard time waiting for say Bachmann to come out with one in the price range of their Yellowstone

I have a Soundtrax decoder that I can use if I want sound but I bought it mainly for my display case of articulateds

Last one that I wanted --They are really too big for my layout

except for the 2-6-6-2 which is about Berkshire size . So I have one decorated for and run on my freelancer and a USRA C&O one for the display cabinet

Sometimes the time has come. Hope you find the satisfaction in having it that you hoped to. Having things you have always wanted seems similar to reaching other goals in life that we strive for.

Have fun,

Richard

Life is short, Bob. Some things are not meant to be, some things should not be, and some things could be if we make allowances and they aren’t illegal, immoral, or fattening. Where does your (I think) sensible purchase fit in that scheme? [swg]

Hi UncBob,

all I can say is GOOD FOR YOU. Awesome purchase, enjoy. I bought a Bachmann Yellowstone, undecorated. You say it is a tad big for your layout, well if it makes the curves and does not hit any scenery then it is the perfect size as far as I am concerned. Just think, my roster consists of Diesels from Canadian Pacific from 1996 onward, as well as a couple of other roads in that era. So where does the Yellowstone fit in??? Excursions.

So no reason or misgivings about a purchase, just enjoy.

Frank

Smart move Bob, because Bachmann is no likely to ever do one. Surely not while the Rivarossi one is available.

Unlike companies like BLI and MTH, Bachmann seldom does models available from other companies.
