Canadian to be featured on Canadas 10 bill

Note to the editors: The VIA train is called ‘Canadian’. The CPR train was called ‘The Canadian’. One suspects the same attitudes and sentiments that prevailed at Santa Fe when trains were being turned over to Amtrak were also in effect at CP.

So, we will get (With luck) a picture of a Park series dome -obs on the ten. I like that.

I’ll have to get me one of those bills.

Any pictures available with e-mail news? OK if sometimes not. I’m magazine subscriber and love it!

I don’t care how much I or anyone else like trains, especially passenger trains, I really find this to be a bit much. I seriously am almost laughing about it.

The Canadian, is a Passenger train in a class by its self. Was run by CPR, and the service was good, But VIA rail has improved on the CPR by a long shot, I cant wait for my next trip on the Canadian from Toronto to Vancouver. I only wish is that it would hold in Kamloops till daylight , [ westbound ] and travel down the Fraser Canyon in daylight

I can hardly wait to get the new 10.00 bill! My wife and I had a great time on it in the 90’s.

If I remember correctly, wasn’t there a gentleman named Van Horn from The Great Northern who went to Canada to build the Canadian Pacific. I think he appears on a Canadian bill.

David, It might sound funny to us Americans to do this kind of thing with your money, but Canada has been doing it for years.

On my last visit I noted at least a couple designs. One showed a group of people playing hockey on a lake, accompanied by an appropriate poem. No kidding. Bear in mind, these folks refer to their one-dollar coin, which depicts a loon, as a ‘loonie’. By extention, the newer two-dollar coin is a ‘twonie’.
