I’m guessing ebay, then. Good idea.
For me, selling all my coins and Legos would yield about $12.52. Not exactly enough.
Now, Packers#1, who are you going to root for? #4 has always been a favorite with me, and as a Pats fan, I’m glad to see a quality guy like that in our division. He’ll be fun to watch, win or lose. (And by the way, I expect the Pats to win. But now I think the Jets might have a chance at a wild card.)
Sorry to get off topic, but Mr. Beasly, I’ll be rooting for the
Green bay Packers
New Orleans Saints
San Diego Chargers
New York Jets
Same here. I have no coins, and lost all of my legos.
Sorry to be off topic as well, but they both are bad teams!!! STEELERS ALL THE WAY.
Keep you brick-shaped Lego!
They are great for building forms for casting your own parts!
They make great forms for casting walls with plaster too, and coins are good for weighting rolling stock to NMRA standards.
I came up with a great plan for financing my hobbies back when I was a teenager.
Reality intruded when somebody pointed out that the Federales take a dim view of bank robbery.
So, I carefully husbanded my nickels and dimes (and yen) and bought what I could, when I could. Some things which proved inappropriate got sold off or traded away - but, for the most part, that was many years ago. Since about 1970, the term inappropriate has been redefined to mean kitbash fodder.
Now my financial position is reasonably secure, and I can buy anything I think I want. So, guess what? I already own almost everything I can reasonably use. All I have to do is put it (and the layout to support it) together.

Well, when I was much younger, I came up with an idea of how to finance my model railroad, until I realized that:
1: I was too shy.
2: There weren’t really THAT many Rich Widows here in Sacramento.
So now that I’m ‘retired’ and have retirement and SS and the weekend playing job at the Parish, I decided that in order to KEEP financing this hobby in the manner to which I’ve unfortunately become accustomed, I have to do one thing:
Go back to teaching part-time.
Hey, it’ll pay for the Sunset Z-6 I just ordered [:P]

I actually use legos for buildings, lack of styrene in the area causes that.
I tried to find a basic Lego set the other day to use for some plaster molds. No luck![V]
All the stores had were kits to make space ports of gas stations, etc…All in the $20-$35 range.
Pay for train stuff? Isn’t that what relatives and holidays are for?
Waxxon,
I hope you don’t mind this personal question. Are you currently working a part time or full time job? Things are tough now for many of us here as well. It does take some patience and dsicipline, but there are ways to budget for this hobby.
There is always the 5 finger discount…

But while we are talkin about football…
The steelers Rock
I am working full time, but the wife is in the midst of a start-up busienss which as far as the checking account is concerned means she has no income.
The truth is what coins I have will bring about a grand and these are coins that have sat in boxes for at least a few years since I even looked at them last.
The Legos also have not been touched and Legos always have value.
Try Lego shop at home: aka Lego.com
Also try BrickLink.com, the Ebay of Legos… http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3001
Which only increases the costs for the rest of us. Fortunately most of our society frowns on such endeavors but we do allow you to keep your fingers.
Then again, it’s hard to carry things off with no fingers. HEY! I WAS KIDDING, OK??
