well after 352 transactions, I finally got burned! I paid for an item two weeks ago, paid 13.00 for shipping on a Proto2000 GP38, and yet to have seen the engine, the seller won’t respond to any e-mails. How do I do a reversal on Pay Pal?
I would be a little more patient. I had a similar experience, and it turned out that the seller’s mother had passed away. He wasn’t responding to any emails because he hadn’t logged onto his computer for almost 3 weeks. You can have eBay do the contacting for you and see what they find out. Have you read the sellers transaction feedbacks?
Two weeks isn’t overly long to be waiting. How long have you been trying to email him?

Go to the PayPal’s Resolution Center which you can find at the top of the Account Overview page. Fill out the form and then they’ll try to contact the seller.
In the Buyer Complaint Policy it says, “Even if the buyer’s claim is justified, the buyer will receive a recovery only if there are funds in the seller’s account. RECOVERY OF YOUR CLAIM IS NOT GUARANTEED.”
You have 45 days to file the claim.
Good Luck

Todd, out of curiosity…What is that seller’s feedback rating?
Sometimes when we see a 99% rating, it seems good at first…unless it’s someone that has sold 2000 or 3000 items. So then, even with a 99% there can be quite a bit of negative feedback.
I recently saw two items that I’ve been wanting for a while, but the seller’s 99% feedback showed at least 6 negatives and 4 neutrals within the past year------I said “No way”. I have purchased items from Ebayers with a few negatives but I always e-mail them a friendly letter first.
Back in 2004, I won a Walthers Budd Car. It never arrived. The seller/hobby dealer, MartyHO, stated that the car was shipped to me even after I told him I never got it. Two months later, he sends me an e-mail with an apology stating that as he was rearranging his store shelves he found my ACL lounge car. He shipped it to me and left me positive feedback. I was pleasantly surprised. This was a situation where patience paid off.
I hope your situation does get resolved. Hang in there and be patient.
I’d give it another week or two. Does the seller even show his star rating???
How was this being shipped? If the seller shipped this using USPS, they’ve been EXTREMELY slow lately for some reason. I ordered something from a company (not eBay) in Arizona over a week ago, and it’s still not here (I KNOW that it was shipped out on last Monday). I also had something come from the next county over… that took almost 2 weeks itself. I’d understand rught around Christmas, but this was well after Christmas.
My point… if it’s shipping USPS first class (non-priority), it could take longer. I say be patient. Try to contact him if you can.

to what Antonio said. If there are any negitive feedbacks, see if there any complaints of no return e-mails. If you look into the negitive feedbacks, sometimes you will notice the complainer didn’t give the other person (usually a seller) a chance or they are posting negitive feedback for revenge for negitive feedback left on them. If you still haven’t received the item or a e-mail response and can’t get your money back and it has been at least four weeks, it is possible to get their phone number under the Emergency Contact Info, however they will receive yours too. Do everything you can to contact the seller first before filing a complaint with eBay and/or PayPal.
I’ve only a couple problems with sellers on eBay, but I never left a negitive feedback. By the time I was about to do that, they had been banned from ebay.
maybe some of the roads were cut off by the snow storm you guys have up in the north. Not sure if PA has the snow problem also…
I would agree that patience is in order. If after a month or so you are not able to either get the item or recover funds, contact your bank or credit union. I attempted to recover from a deadbeat seller through Paypal to no avail but I was able to recover the funds with my credit union. Since the item was never received, the credit union interpreted the transaction as fraud. Paypal sent a rather terse letter to me when they recieved the reversal but the eventutally conceded and followed through with repayment. Unless there is more to the story, I would be patient.
I am waiting for an engine I purchased in October 2005. I think I will be awaitng a lifetime!
I wouldn’t wait another day. If the item was shipped Priority mail then I would contact Paypal ASAP, DON"T WAIT. Check shipping method first. He should have contacted you long ago in a return email. Thats the sellers responsibility.
Hey Todd. How’s it going buddy ?.
I’d do as the others have suggested and give it another week before getting serious about it. I’ve had items take a month sometimes - but won’t ever do business with anyone that takes that long again…
Tracklayer
Thge seller has 3000 feedbacks with a 99%, but gets a lot of negatives. I should of boughtr the locomotive from a better seller, but whenever I see CNW at a good price, I grab it. The no return e-mail is what makes me mad. Tracklayer I’m doing good, just got my BNSF SD70 from the wife for valentines day!!
Two weeks is nothing, up here in Canada things take a month to arrive from the USA.
I buy stuff from one seller that only goes to town once about every two weeks, so if I pay at the wrong time in his cycle, I can wait awhile.

I’ve had to wait up to a month. Sometimes it can take a while.
Yet one more reason I use LHS , or online mfgr.
Things happen sometimes! I would wait a few eeks or so, and send nice emails to him every once in awhile. Something may have come up, like a compiter virus, death, illness, or whatever. We are all human, and things happen.
If the guy has a good feedback rating don’t write him off like some people say. If you do a charge back, I am just going to tell you this from a sellers point of veiw, because I have a ebay member who did it to me, after they got the item and gave me good feedback, trying to scam me. Papal lets it hang in limbo for ever and is no help for along time. I just want to let you know that for your own personal reasons.
