I finally had a good track plan idea

blame it on a combination of energy drink, lack of sleep for close to 30 hours and some ibuprofen but it finally dawned on me. I couldnt get RTS open fast enough to match my idea…well actually someone pretty well known around these circles… heres the track plan, set for On30

ruling radius is 22" on mainline with 18" on the branchline ( but both radii could be easily upgraded to 24" and 20" I think) . Scheme is a twice around with branch operation, turnouts are #4 . the long strech in the back serves both as a way to gain elevation but also as a hidden staging tracks as well. Operation would include passenger service as well as transfer from standard gauge. Branchline would probably be mining. Layout to be set in California, maybe early 1920-1930’s ( havent decided yet). Passenger service to be insured by a 2-6-0, branchline service using a 0-4-2 porter and a railtruck for the occasional LCL freight delivery & passenger service.Basic engine servicing facility ( turning, watering, coaling and sanding) and repair track

comments are always appreciated…and yes I know the eagle eyes have already recognized John Allen original G&D track plan…if youre gonna cheat, might as well cheat from the best…

For the most part it looks pretty good. The biggest thing I see is that since the branch breaks off pretty near where it passes over the other tracks it’s going to need an impossibly high grade percentage to clear them. If you were to break it off more to the left it would gain more ground to get the height it needs without having too tough of a grade. Also, with only one industry and an interchange track in the lower left (good idea!), you’re very limited in operations. Any chance you could add one or two more industries? Without them, you may find that you get bored. Just my thoughts…
