I have just reached the 500 post mark!
Ya but 250 of them was from the Ebay topic you made. [:D]
Just busting ya. Congrats.
Daniel,
A quick toot of the horn to you. And…did you know it’s also customary here at the forum for all newly 3-star posters to buy the first congratulatory respondee their locomotive of choice…[:)]
Tom
P.S. Did i say “respondees”? Hmm, let’s see. How 'bout a BLI GN S-2 4-8-4 that is due out in October…? Yep, that’ll do. [^]
Congratulations Dan! Welcome to the Three Star Club.[8D][tup]
Ok I’ll make it easy on him them. How about an
OMI “SCALE TEST CAR”
Hey, congrats on the triple star rating. Took me about 6 months longer to get there. Betcha you’ll beat me to 4… [:D]
I still beatcha to it…[:D] Yeah, at 3 AM last night.
Congrats, Daniel.
uspscsx
congrats to you to uspscsx!!!
These kinds of threads are exactly why the stars and post counts should be removed.
Aww now come on man, live a little!

Buying a locomotive of our choice huh? Well, they didn’t say that it had to be a model sooooooo… How about buying me a 1:1 scale SD40-2 that EMD Makes? You can send it up here, I’ll have the WSOR park it the end of the track and I can switch out the industries in town for them…
Noah
Beginner!!
Seriously, congratulations on the first 500, which are the hardest. After that, it’s smooth sailing, so to speak. You’ll go from Green to Gold in no-time!
Tom [:D][:D]
Daniel,
Congrats. Although you got them a lot quicker than I did. [8D] I just got number four awhile back
and I have been around here forever… Good luck, Dave
You climbed the grade and passed MR 100. Now the big challenger, MR 101, just in time for the new semister.
I agree. I’ve never understood the fascination with stars and post counts. Most of the folks that are worried about it or interested in it are the ones that just like to hear themselves talk anyway. Like talking is some sort of rare accomplishment.[:p] Just my opinion.
Jeff
Yeah, going from three to four stars was really quick, I’m heading for five red stars now.[;)]
I don’t know if the stars and post counts should be removed. But they should find someway to not count the “Hi how are you on your birthday.” ones. Like this one that just counted for me, and shouldn’t, since it doesn’t add to the body of knowledge, wisdom, techniques, or enjoyment MRing.
I normally try not even to read them, but since I too just went over 500, I thought it might be something I needed to know.
Until I read this thread, I hadn’t even NOTICED the thread counts. I had to post a reply, then go back and read my own reply to find out how many posts I had!
If you like keeping track of stuff like that, be my guest. I’m not impressed with the numbers.
Although I have seen some very interesting and informative posts from members with low post counts, I think everyone might agree that high-posting members are generally the ones with the good answers we are looking for. If they want to get off-track, so to speak, I have no problem with that.
Once I start reading a thread, if it has no interest for me, I just don’t read it anymore. The threads that ask things like “what’s the best HOn30 turnout?” don’t interest me as I model in N scale. Curiosity sometimes gets the better of me and I read the post anyway. Depends on whether or not I want to spend my time in that manner.
Darrell, quiet…for now
You Non believers wait till you reach a milestone, it’s kinda cool. I’m waiting on 1000 now and these posts all help[:D][:D][:D][:o)][:o)][:o)]
