I have taken the loco. weathering plunge!

I have just finished my first loco weathering attempt! The lucky victim is one of my Kato SD90/43MACs. I know, I know, a very pricey and terrible choice for your first try, but I think it turned out O.K. I would appreciate any feedback as to what looks good and what looks bad, so that I can make my next one look better. For comparison, my other SD90 which is totally stock, is also in the pics. Thanks for looking!

It looks really good. My only suggestion is keep up the good work![8D][:D][^]

Looks fabulous!
Respectful suggestion–add a thin black wash over the entire hood before you do what ever you just did to it. Cause on UP hoods (which I also grew up with) the grime in the cracks are very pronounced against the yellow. Kinda like an outline of the doors and such.

Darn, Aggro has respected you, so now everybody has to! Way to go, Aggro. [:D]

I would say that you have done remarkably well for your first attempt. I like what I see. If I could make a suggestion, okay, a RESPECTFUL suggestion… I would be happier with some darker drip/run lines down the sides of those tanks. And I agree with respectful Aggro about darker crevice lines.

Keep up the work. So far, it is better than mine. [^]

Great job…for a first attempt its excellent !......like the ballast too (which, knowing my luck means it probably wont be avaialable in England.)…keep up the good work…Dave.

Beautiful job!! The bad thing is weathering is addictive!! I have done a bit of weathering on some of my engines, and now I am starting on the Broadway stuff. The hardest part is the first brush stroke!!

This is a turntable pit that was going to have “just a little bit” of grass in it. It also has two goats and an old tire in their now.
