I just won on eBay a Railking F-3

Santa Fe warbonnet and 3 streamliners cars. This is the small size starter set. I’m a 027 size person and I wanted these. I also have the small Railking Western Pacific F-3 ABA. Someday I will learn to post pictures and sell my postwar F-3’s and aluminum streamliners and other semi scale size things. My max bid was $145 and I got them for $124. It was local so I have to pay Calif sales tax of over 10%. It is from isoldit, a store that sells for a fee to the seller. They automatically add $4 insurance. I called and they said to request no insurance and they would reimburse me the $4. So total was $149 or hopefully $145.

These MTH locos are great for the folks that run 027 layouts. They blend in well with the 027 radius.

Why are you going to sell your PW F-3s?

That is a good price. The dummy A cost me $75, and I haven’t found a B yet…

Sounds pretty good! I bought three NIB Railking passenger cars for $42 in Denver last year . They look great with my Lionel F3 Santa Fe. One or the other of them comes uncoupled on my 1121 turnouts once in a while, but no big deal. I would like the Lionel Postwar passengers, but the price & quality of the MTH made them irresistible.

Again, why sell the Postwar?

Just curious on what the size difference between the Railking & postwar F3s. I picked up Railking F3 Santa Fe passenger set about 10 years ago (didnt want to spend the $ for postwar set). I’m very happy with it & never really thought about size difference (I run on 031). I’m sure they are a little shorter; dont know about height.

I have Gargraves flextrack with 17 1/2" min. radius or 35" dia. at the centerrail. My layout is 88 sq.’ 110’ of track total. The reason to sell most semi scale things is I like the smaller traditional size or even the smaller I call 027 size. The Railking F-3’s and the passenger cars that go with them are considerably smaller than postwar and modern F-3’s and 15" aluminum streamliners. Sort of like postwar Alco’s and 2421, 2429 passenger plastic streamliners.

Now I just won on eBay a Railking 2-8-0 another engine I want. I got it for $46 + $15. My max bid was $86. so I stole this engine. Like new with Proto sounds. From a broken up starter set. The auction ended at 4 in the morning that probably helped me get it. I placed my max bid before I went to bed at 10:00 PM.
