I need a good wallpaper for my monitor.

I have one now that is a cool picture. It is 15-20 brightly colored engines at an engine wash facility. It looks really good, but it is loud and distracting.

My screen is set to 1024 x 768.

I’d like steam in the woods, but any picture that is cool, has a train in it, and would be considered relaxing I’d like to see.

Post the link here. I’m sure others ould be interested as well. If you can’t post it, email it to me and I’ll post it and put a link.

Thanks.

Go to www.rr-fallenflags.org ,lot of photos from all eras, you should find something to set as a background.

There are some REALLY “pretty” railroad pix perfect for desktop … I’m always changing mine because there are so many to choose from !!!

Mark.

I’m using a photo I took of my layout on my monitor at work. People think it’s pretty neat. One guy even thought it was real, which made my day.

Hi ya Chip.
I’ve probably got just exactly what you’re looking for, but have no way of sending it to you… I know, a lot of help I am. Oh well. At least I can describe it to you. It’s a cold winter morning in the 1930s just before day break. A mikado pulling a consist of old passenger cars is sitting along side of a typical general store. An old black delivery van is patiently waiting with its head lights on for the train to pull out so it can cross the tracks. There’s a church and a few houses in the back ground. I can’t quite make out the artist’s name, but who ever it was did a really great job of capturing the moment. I copied it off the web several months ago.

You can email it to me as an attachment. I’d love to see it. Use my email address below. And I’ll reply so you can send it direct.

Thanks.

Sorry Chip. It keeps coming back as unsendable. I hate this computer!..

I’ll see if I can find the web link to the picture and will e-mail it to you later on today.

Thanks.

Many email servers “bounce” screen saver attachements because they are execuables, i.e., could unleash a worm or virus. Maybe if you ‘ZIP’ it and send it that way, it’ll get thru…?

Usually even .ZIP files get blocked. Just rename the file from mypic.jpg to mypic.jpg.removeme. That usually lets them get through.

I think my local Lowe’s or Home Depot has some lovely stuff. I’ll go have a look and get back to you.

Something floral in pick, thank you.

I actually had a bathroom in an apartment I rented that was orange, black, and reflective chrome diagonal stripes. It was, uh, uh, uh, striking.

I can post a picture of myself that is a great wallpaper for all

Don’t even mention wallpaper around me. Every weekend for the past 3 weeks now we’ve been stripping off all this ugly wallapeper the previous owners installed in this house. What a PITA, but it HAS to go, all dark and goofy patterns.

Chip,

Here’s a few I was able to link off the web. Sorry, not very many forest scenes.

Even though it’s a painting, I kinda like the last one. (The smell of burning anthracite in your nostrils. The rush of cool air blowing in your face. Relaxing, huh?) Trainweb might also have some nice pics of what you are looking for. If I have time, I’ll keep poking around for some.

Shultzinfosystem must use AOL search criteria … no,no wait they are locomotives and there are trees;AOL would have come up with Tienemen Square tanks and Stealth bombers! Good looking photos Jeff, but I don’t think they even have steam generators.
Just kidding, except they are good looking photos and from the Pacific northwest, might be right up the Mouse’s alley!
