I need quick help: CIty of Madison Railway

My job requires me to go to Hanover College, Indiana today from Indianapolis. I was looking at the map and I realized it is very close to the City of Madison Railway! I am told that is where the steapest active grade in the U.S. is. Does anyone know where on the line the grade is or where is the best spot to view it?

I will probably have a spare 30 minutes to take a look at it.

I am driving from Indianapolis. I am blessed with good rail/driving conditions. The Louisville and Indiana from Indy to Seymore, CSX from Seymore to Norht Vernon, and the City of Madison Railway to all but the last five miles to Hanover.

Gabe

P.S. By the way does anyone know what is the deal with CSX’s southern indiana ex C&O line. I saw it this Easter weekend, talk about rusted rails. Did not look good.

Gabe:

Madison Hill is dormant, they are only running on the top of the hill.
