Whoo boy…

Oh my.

And I thought this only happend to me…

At least when I do it no one gets hurt!

wheres the 5 finger hook?

I wonder just how much that will cost the RR? How many cars derailed? Messed up some track maybe. Damage to the loco that hit the back of the train. Tied up mainline.
Ouch is right!
Jarrell

maybe not.

8 cars on the ground. A call to Hulcher. Track damage. Probably $50,000.

Nick

This might be time for the crane of God to be summoned. An 0-5-0 might not help this time…

That had to hurt.

Happy Railroading.[swg][swg]

Strange thing is (for me at least) is that I know exactly where this happened, I’ve been past there many times.

Brad

So how much would it cost to repair those 8 derailed cars?? Or would one or two get the rating of “totaled” and not be repaired? And the egine that hit them…Any idea how much damage the engine had?

Without seeing the engine, I can’t make a real good guess. But I’ll stand by my estimate of $50,000. Figure 15 to 20 grand for Hulcher, 5 or so for track and 25 to 30 for car damage. More if they have to write some of the cars off, or if CSX has to reimburse the local police and HAZMAT forces.

Nick

That doesn’t look purdy

did it happen in dark territory?

oops wrong button

Either an engineer failed to stop at a red signal or there are no signals. If no signals, why didn’t the engineers and conductors have radio communications between trains? When accidents like this happen, the determination is usually “human error” and someone loses their job. It’s just fortunate that no one lost their life.
