I Rode the Clarion Hospital (Methoist-IU) Monorail Today in INDY!!

It looked cool… but the ride was kinda rough and clunky Plus they had music that played like it was out of a X film of the 1970s… while the train was in motion to go along with that rock and rolling…[;)] The train cars look acela like…

The guide way is made of concrete which made for a rough ride …My choice would have been Steel I beams…

Now what gets me is 40,000,000 million for 1.5 miles of track and 3 el staitions and wonder why your hospital bill is so big…

The Monorail gets 1,200 people a day…Now that would be not bad on a per mile basis with other light rail systems that are 15 miles long and get 16,000 people a day…

Not wanting to harp on small points, but it is not a monorail. It has two rails.

Heading in for your shots?

Thanks Ed, I spit Coke all over my screen when I read that!

Bert

It rides directly on the concreat withe rubber tires///

Which does not make it a monorail. A peoplemover yes, monorail no.

Would that make it a bus?

Well, you know Greyhound does run 26 buses a day out of Indy.[;)]

Id’ explain the rough ride. It’s called “potholes”[:-^]

“we have a great nightlife in Indy, we call it Chicago!”[;)] Bet that’s where the Greyhounds are going.[^]

Thanks for the report, Brooklyn. I don’t know why the old codgers on here have to take personal shots at you and at Indy (and “spit coke” when they read each others comments - how sad). I have seen the system and always wanted to know what the ride was like and you answered that for me.

Which is what this forum was once about. Thanks again.

What is sad is that Brooklyn is this forum’s resident troll. Not sure how many screen names he has gone under. His M.O. is to make some decent posts for a while, but will then make some very weird, insulting posts. He always will start with the posts late on Friday, so that way they will be on the board for the weekend until Bergie gets back to work on Monday. But hey, why take time to learn all the facts when you can just jump to conclusions and make uneducated judgements of people.

There’s a photo here on slide 6.

Looks like two rails to me.

But I note that almost all of the sites I found while looking for a photo called it a “monorail.”
