I saw a Milatray train today

Hey everyone I saw a Up train today going by the airport toady a very short train but it was carrying all milatray items from tanks to guns and everything in between. But my question is where would this train come from. In wisconsin I kinda figured it may have started some where up north like from camp douglas. But I’m not to sure it did have Three loco’s though my guess cause of the wheight of the train. but. I’m not sure If anyone knows where this train started out at or where it maybe going can you please enlighten me.

…I too saw some military action on the rails in my area this past Saturday. I was inside our local mall and noticed it passing by on NS through exit doors so didn’t have the best advantage to eyeball just all it was carrying.

It did have quite a few tanks {without the turrets}, on flat cars that I noticed.

It was northbound on our Newcastle Disrict here in Muncie, on it’s way towards Ft. Wayne and the time frame was about noon.

but i do belive there is a law agisnt mentioning millitary moves for at least 24 hours… due to securty reasons… feel free to correct me if i should be wrong…

…If so…we met that regulation on our Muncie move…

No, there is not.

My guess is because it is an important train and it would not be stalled should a unit fail.

Either it’s a NG unit shipping their heavy equipment to the coast for deployment (or coming back from deployment) OR they just came off the assemly line to replace the pieces of swiss cheese coming back from the desert. Most of the parts for the armored vehicles are assembled in the Ohio/Indiana/Michigan region.

The UP got it in Itasca and it was going to Fort Bliss, Texas. Other than that I don’t know where it came from.

Could be a unit heading for one of the national training centers, too. (Or headed home).

Whats a Milatray? I’ve never heard of that…is it a very small tray?

No, that would be a millitray [;)]

[#dots] But it wasn’t a “military” move, it was a milatray movement… [}:)]

You failed to mention what country these military vehicles were from? did they have a red star on them, or a red maple leaf or maybe a crescent moon, details, we need details.

Were there any white KSC boxcars in this train? Black helicopters overhead? [;)]

See them often on the KCS heading to and from Ft. Polk at Leesville, LA. Often 100+ car trains with containerized military equipment and supplies at the head end followed by car after car of tanks, Humvees, APCs, amublances, tanker fuel trucks, deuce and a halfs, etc.

“Hello? Yes, Please get me the White House…Yes… Let me see. Eighty Five Cents station to station? Wait, please. I say, Colonel? Could you get some change from that Coca Cola machine over there?”

“OK, But you’ll have to answer to the Coca Cola Company.”

“Just get me the change and hurry, you twit! The fate of the world is at stake here.” ( Col. Guano shoots up Coca Cola machine, gets a faceful of Coke, bends over to recover change from the machine)

“Here you are, Group Captain, if that’s what you are. You better be on the level.”

“One moment…(deposits money in phone).Yes I’d like to talk to some one at the White House… Thank You… Hello? Yes, Group Captain Lionel Mandrake, here… Please don’t hang up… I have what I believe, I pray are the recall codes…”

You dont think I’d go into battle with change in my pockets?

I to am starting to see some cars carying not tanks, but camofloge trucks, and guns on trains here on the Geneva Sub.
