I Saw Another First (BNSF fans will dig this)

Ok, so maybe this might be a littel trival, but it was something I had never seen before, or of the hudreds of trains I have watched go by… a 100% solid one road name train. I was up in BNSF Trans-Con last weekend and I see a intermodal coming… Well, no surprise there… Except, I go pretty happy as I got to see my first H3 scheme engine in person. 2 more H2 GE’s behind it, then along stack train… I notched the first 5 cars were painted and tagged with the new BNS logo. Cool , I thought… Oh look, another 5 car set RIght on. Oh my, another… The whole train consisted of either brand new, or very recent BNSF well cars. I at one point, I saw 2 consecutive road numbers. Not as exciting as the 100 car tank car train with 4 GE and 3 pushers… but still ranked pretty high on the “cool” scale[8D]

I have seen CSXT coal trains like that before, but never a stack train.

[:O] Could this be proof positive that BNSF is going to merge…with itself?[:o)]

up here in minnisota i volenteer at the minnisota transportation museums jakson street roundhouse whitch is on the bnsf main between northtown and pigseye so we get sd9’s gp30-m’s and matched sets of BN safty stripes and whitefaces gong by on a 2.2 very cool and the noise is incredible when UP runs a transfer with a solid set of 645’s in run8 by

[}:)] Can’t be. Half the UP trains I saw this weekend had at least one NS unit. So they must be merging with the UP.[;)]

I saw a train in 2005 that had 2 BNSF DASH8’s(one B40-8 and one B40-8W) with about 100 or so well cars, all but 3 had the new logo. The other 3 had BNSF’s old logo.

Murphy!!! Please [:D][}:)] there are “kids” on this Forum. Is the merger partner engaged to each other yet?[banghead][censored][(-D][(-D][:-^]

Hey where’s the picture? Thx IGN

Since im from Minnesota, I feel obligated to correct your statement.

Up here in Minnesota i volunteer at the Minnesota Transportation Museum’s Jackson Street Roundhouse which is on the BNSF main between Northtown and Pigseye so we get SD9’s GP30-m’s and matched sets of BN safety stripes and whitefaces going by on a 2.2 grade. Very cool and the noise is incredible when UP runs a transfer with a solid set of 645’s in RUN8 by us.

I know. No pictures. I blew all my film getting pictures of the Alco’s rumblin’ for the Apache Railway[:D]

Most of the BNSF Trains I See have at least 1 forign Power Unit.

BNSF. What’s that?
Allan.

I saw a BNSF coal train the other day, all brand new cars, and 5 or 6 sets of consecutive cars ranging from 4-7 and one of em was 10 cars!

Had 3 GEs in 2-1 formation, all new logo
