I think it's time to

stay in the trainroom and work on the layout 'cause it’s going to be a cool 107 degrees F. here in middle Georgia today!!!

You win. Here in Charlotte it’s only going to be 105. That is, on the other hand, and all time record.

Dave, 105 is nothing to sneeze at!

To be more accurate, the weather folks say it will be between 105 and 110, depending just where in middle Ga. you are.

Waaaaaay to hot for me!

Wow, it’s going to be a blistering 64F in Anchorage AK today… don’t see how they can stand it. [;)]

It’s much cooler here in Arizona – only 102, and very low humidity. I was raised in southern Illinois and will never go back to that stifling heat and humidity.

Well, come join us in Upstate New York. It will be a nice cool 89* for a high today. I will still need airconditioning, others may not.

The weather patterns that gave us a very mild winter is kinda similar to what seems to be keeping it cooler this summer here.

Wednesday is only supposed to be 82*!

{my oh My}

Sounds like a great idea to me! It’s only going to be 98 here but the index will make it feel like 105 and the humidity is murder.

Well…Im a welder by trade.......so yeah Im in the heat all day long…as for today and tomorrow…hehe A/C for the weekend.

113 past 2 days in greater Phoenix. Lower humidity or not, hot is hot.

This week we also had heat indices in the 100+ areas in NE Iowa.

Need to solder some LEDs & other electronics, but don’t want to sit over a hot iron!

Ha hah…

Here in Boise, 95 and low humidity! I love the weather here, after living back east, this is a cake walk!

Here in the Denver area, we’ve had over 100 temps for more than 7 days now. It’s brutal out there.

And our entire front range is on fire right now. The fires in Colorado Springs was really bad. 400 homes were destroyed.

We need rain.

Hey, Good Luck Michael, please stay safely away from those fires!

40 degrees celcius on the back deck, time to go to the nice cool basement, never been in a house here in Canadaland that doesn’t have a basement, cool in summer and warm in winter, lots of room for trains and all my crap.

40 celcius = 104 F

-40 celcius = 40 below F.

Been following those fires on the news. Images I’ve seen just break your heart. Prayers to all affected.

Been triple digits here in central Indiana since mid-week. If I weren’t so ding-danged busy, this would be ideal basement time.

Jim

I live about 10 miles away from Boulder, and I work in Boulder. There were fires that started on Wednesday, near Flagstaff Mountain. I took this photo on my way home from work on Thurs.

The smoke was bad, really bad…

It sounds like you guys in the south and mid-west should re-consider that whole “model railroading is a winter sport” philosophy. Thoughts are with the folks in Colorado Springs especially anyone who suffered damage. Upper 70s to Upper 80s in So. California this weekend. No fires or Santa Ana winds, those come in the fall. My club is holding an ops session tomorrow so I’m enjoying the weather here today.

The weather outside doesn’t concern me much. My train room is 65 to 75 degrees year round so model railroading can be done anytime.

Temperatures here in Winnipeg have been running around 29C (84F) all last week and continuing for all this coming week, with some highs predicted to be 32C (90F). Also been getting high humidex readings, as high as 36 (97). That doesn’t beat some of your 3-digit temperatures, but it’s way, way too hot for me. Thank goodness for central A/C in the house and A/C in the car. Couldn’t survive without it. Nice cool basement, though. Conducive to model railroad work. I think when I go out to BBQ the steaks for supper I’ll just open the lid on the BBQ, lay the steaks on the grill and let the sun do the work. [:D]

There you go, Bob. Don’t waste the charcoal or propane… [:D]

The Kentucky blue grass is now brown instead of green.

Yesterday, we drove 300 miles across KY from Cincinnati, OH to western KY. Between Elizabethtown and Hopkinsville, the temperature was 109 F according to the car’s thermometer. There was smoke blowing across the road at one location from a small forest fire. There had been several grass fires at several locations, too.

Presently, it is 105 F.
