I think I've gone over the edge.... finally!

[#wstupid][#wstupid]
I mean, what crazy person starts a layout that 16 feet down one wall, turns and goes 12 feet down another on the very first try? It’s like I kinda sorta know what I’m doing but not really and when the not really part starts getting more than the kinda sorta part I just leave the thing and lock the door.
But, with help and advice… mainly from here… some from a book or two and MRR magazine[X-)] it’s slowly moving along. It’s not like I’m in some kind of competition or I have a deadline to meet. If I did I’d probably just throw in the towel and go fishing. Hmmmm… now theres a good idea… the fishing part, I mean.
Anyway, hopefully there are a lot of other crazy people out there.[yeah]
It’s lonely being nuts by yourself…

Jarrell, when I was 10, I built my first layout, a 4 x 8 loop. 35 years later, I started number 2, an around the wall with a peninsula. I have made significant progress, made a bunch of mistakes and learn new things every week. I’m having a blast…

Ain’t that the truth![^]
If you can’t have fun doin’ it, why do it!
Jarrell

Do not be afraid. I went over the edge MANY years ago.
It’s better over here. [:D]

Judging by your questions about Masonite, and your photographs Jarrell, you’re not nuts, just ambitious…

Yeah, that’s it, not nuts, just ambitious! Sounds much better!

Anyway, as long as you’re having fun, who cares what other people think…

Jim

I’ve been over the edge for years!

You haven’t gone over the top until you add a Hot Box Detector to your track. Then you will have someone to talk to, well sort of. http://www.twistedtrains.com

hehehehe… Randy, I kinda like it over here!
Jarrell

Yeah… I like that! Ambitious! I’m not crazy… just Ambitious!
[:(] I had to take all my temporary track down so that I could get to that masonite to get the screws in. OH… and that reminds me. Masonite is tough stuff. It’ll bend around a curve ok, but brother let me tell you, you’d better have it countersunk good because you’re NOT going to force that screw head in. I learn something new every day!
