Casey_Dowling, here is a current picture of my railway.
Most of the structures are put away, and many of the plants are dormant.
BTW, this month’s issue of Garden Railways has my latest article, which focuses on the rebuilding of the retaining wall next to one of the curves, which is on the forefront of the attached picture.
Hi Tony,
Here is a photo of Piko conductive paste. The second shows LGB track in the foreground, which was bought new. I used conductive paste, and Piko” over the joiner” rail clamps. The rear track was purchased used, and was very tarnished. I cleaned the rail tops, and scrubbed the rail ends with a wire brush. Then used conductive paste and new LGB joiners. You can save a lot of money with used track, but it’s more work.

@NeptaliRail, the layout looks great! I like the tiers. What is your maximum grade? Nice work with the retaining walls as well. I’ll read up on your approach to the curved one in your article. You’ll have to post some photos once things green up and you have your structures out.
Casey_Dowlins, my highest grade is about 3%, and it begins on the right side of the widest curve shown in the forefront on the picture. It goes up left wise, as the trains climb all the way to the beginning of the trestle at the back in the picture.
You can also read my “Meet The Author” article, which talks a bit about me and the railway, plus it has additional pictures.
