I was looking for a engine and i struck out on ebay, so i thought i would ask around here. I am looking for those athearn GP60M’s in ATSF paint. I am looking for a units and b units. I am also looking for a Santa Fe doodlebug. Thanks for any help.

Ebay will be the best source to find the GP-60M since they are no longer produced by Athearn. Maybe doing some searching of online stores or an LHS may help you out. If you don’t have any luck finding what you need, then you can make your own model. Start with this shell and chassis from Rail_Power (actually A-Line/Rail Power). They have both the GP-60M and B units available, non powered though. Using microscale decals, many detail parts, and even more time, you can make a nice looking model. Here is one of mine:
In this picture, my model wasn’t completely finished as I still needed to add more details, shorten the fuel tank, change sideframes, and add a few odds and ends. I already did all that was missing from it and it is finally finished. I haven’t taken a more recent picture of it, but it looks a whole lot better than what I have showing here. I started with one of the undecorated shells that I showed you on the link. Good luck if you decide to try your hand at it.
