Can anybody tell me if there is a manufacturer of wheel cars or will this specimen have to be scratchbuilt.
I think Tichy sold one at one time.

Sure you can by one buy why not just make your own by gluing any old wheel sets onto a flat cat? A good use for all the left overs if you convert to metal wheels
Tichy has their wheel car listed as available on their web site. The suggestion about using plastic wheel sets which have been replaced with metal wheels is good, but the Tichy wheels provided with the car are true HO scale wheels. They are much narrower than the plastic cast offs and the axles don’t have the pointy ends to remove. In my mind, the Tichy car is good value.
