I am truly surprised there has been no comment here on the announcement that the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers is exploring a merger with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters! I cannot imagine why a union with such a long and honorable history would consider any sort of affiliation with a union so steeped in organized crime, embezzlement, and just general corruption that the federal government had to oversee it.
