ICRX coal hopper pics and info

I am new to model trains but I am Looking for info about( ICRX) coal hopper cars. My dad worked for Island Creek for over 20 years and passed away a few years ago. I am wanting to do a layout in the future using the Island Creek coal Co for my cars.
I can’t find many photos online. I have seen some old forums where they said some of the cars were pea green. And some were yellow. Any info would be appreciated. :+1:

Are you sure that the reporting marks are ICRX?

I searched for photos on railcarphotos.com and ICRX looks like it belongs to Imperial Oil Company.

For your reference, I will describe the method I use. If you know the reporting mark, the first step in your investigation is to access the list created by Ian Cranstone (website). There you can find out the owner and period of ownership. The period of ownership is particularly important. If it is different, the owner have changed.

Next, look at photo aggregation sites. railcarphotos.com, as pointed out by maxman, is well-known, but another one, rrpicturearchives.net (website), is also useful. There are also many other people who publish photos individually.

If you make full use of search engines, you can find valuable information you never expected. Good luck.

I found Island Creek Model Railroad Club, as a closed, member-only group on Facebook. Since I don’t use Facebook, I can’t say anything more.
