Identify this streetcar? Part two

Hello everyone, Now that I know how to add pictures…can anyone help me identify this streetcar? I would like to find prototype information to I can build a powered chassis. The painted shell was purchased on ebay. The paint scheme is fictitious, so ignore that if you can. Thank you for your help.

Your image didn’t come up for me, but I was able to pick the source out of a quote of your post. MAYBE it has to be a jpg?

I thought it might have been a Pennsylvania Scale Models trolley, but it’s not. Is the shell plastic or metal? I’m not a trolley modeler, so I can’t go much further with your problem. Is there a trolley (modelers, or not) Yahoo group??? Maybe they would know.

Here it is:

I copied one of Greg’s shots from his site and put it on my own hosting service.

How are you trying to post the pic? Are you using photobucket or similar?

For now, maybe try putting in a link to the pic on the other site??

Yeah, but that won’t get the photo right here on the Trains forum–something that will maximize the chance of identifying this cute little critter.

“Hey, Ed! Shouldn’t you be working, instead?”

Found the car–go to the bottom of the page–there 'tis–click thereon:

cool little model!

In summary, it looks like a model of a Chicago Surface Line car–the model being imported in brass by Fairfield Traction Model (?). But wait, there’s more:

Go down to set CN-169–voila: all your problems solved. Except for…

Wow, this picture posting is interesting. Earlier today, I posted (I thought) a picture for Greg of his trolley model. Well, it worked in Opera. But, hey, turns out it didn’t work in Firefox, as I found out just a few minutes ago. Or it didn’t, until I went back and played with it–Now it works in Opera, Firefox, Explorer and Safari. I had forgotten how SLOW Explorer is. Also interesting, I had to do the mods in Opera, as this site in Firefox won’t let me do stuff in HTML. Says it will, but it wouldn’t.

And ya know what else? I can’t find the “delete post garbage can” in either Opera or Firefox.

Thanks, Stix, for prompting me to find out that what was, wasn’t.

Ed

U bet! What I generally do is right click on the pic and then choose “properties” and then cut and paste that URL into the appropriate line after hitting the picture icon (the little tree). Usually I try to paste the URL in at the bottom of my reply to, so someone else can see where the pic is coming from if they want to open it directly.

I don;t know if I should be embarrassed or amazed. This is not the first forum I have joined. It is a little embarrassing that I couldn’t figure out how to post a pic. (So is it a MUST that the image is jpg?)

But I am AMAZED that you expended so much effort to make my post successful.

So now I know that the prototype was CSL/CTA and the model was built by Fairfield (yes, the shell is brass) but does anyone know who the prototype builder was. I will look on the old CTA Calendars but maybe there is a trolley guy out there.

Thanks for all your help Ed.

Well, I “Just Google’d it”. Turns out to be CSL #6155 built by Brill in 1923.

I guess we can close this thread now. Thanks to everyone for their help.
