IDIOTS!

I found this link to a stupid video about hobo-living, two teenagers ride the rails and do all sorts of lfie-risking stunts. its because of these two that we have to suffer with NO TRESPASSING signs!

Agreed!
Where Ed and his bucking switchers when we need it?

Those are 3 of the stupidest people I’ve ever seen! Did you see them “playing” with the wheels and rails and climbing in bridge rafters?

In another thread I lamented the complete lack of judgement in todays youth.

Here stands my evidence

I will shed no tears when (not if) one of these Gonzo Bozos falls from an intermodal and is ground into little student hamburgers under the wheels, maybe the camera will be on when it happens. Unfortunalty alot of the “Future of America” morons out there would watch it and simply say “cool lets try it”

Of course they could end up like the guy they found in the trailing cab of a train, naked, hogtied and -voilated- guess he found the ‘romance of the rails’ also…

BraveDave and Co, your Morons!

You have to “suffer” with the no trespassing signs because it’s PRIVATE PROPERTY and not yours to be on.

I am sure this sort of thing was really “cool” to those three morons but I wonder how they would have felt if one of them had lost a leg, an arm or his life?

Their PI attorney would have been tickled pink!
Allan, it isn’t because of these fools as much as railroads and rail yards are dangerous, even to properly trained people.

Think about it…I ride around on a moving rail car, with no safety harness, just one hand and two feet to keep me there…what we do is inherently dangerous.

It has nothing to do with rail fans being excluded, and every thing to do with the liability laws and the railroad being sued by the casual observer who fails to grasp the danger moving trains present and gets whacked by lose banding, or a shifted load, or one of the hundreds of brake shoes that come off all the time.

Ed

And these youth are the future…we’re screwed!!!

[#ditto][#ditto][#ditto][#ditto][#ditto][#ditto][#ditto]

I cant believe how stupid those fools are. I would love to see them get caught and spend some time in jail getting a real lesson on life. Maybe the CSX Police would like to get a copy of this.

A******************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************HOLES!!!
That one guy is going to be killed if he keeps touching the rail like that.

James

Everbody does stupid things in their teenage years, if you havn’t done anything stupid, then you havn’t done anything at all. Although riding freight trains is kinda extreme, but people make a living of it.

What can I expect, they’re British(or something)…they don’t know our railroads.

What’s up with the passing CSX train? The hobos were in between the cars, the conductor should’ve seen the guys. The conductors job is to watch the passing train for problems.

Little things amuse little minds.

They are SOOOOO lucky that they didn’t have a slack run-in while they were in that doublestack car… I’ve always known that we are screwed, ever since I went from the gifted class to the normal english class…

Don’t worry, it’s not so bad on the dark side oh gifted one. [bow]

I think these guys are just wallies. Doesn’t matter where you are, trains are dangerous - if anything ours would be more dangerous due to the typically higher speeds involved and reduced clearances. Another one of their clips talks about climbing Snowdon in cloud - possibly one of the most stupid ideas I’ve heard of. Snowdon’s a downright lethal mountain as the weather can change from summer warmth to hypothermia-inducing cold in minutes, along with the usual hazards of cliffs, etc that you won’t see due to reduced visibility. I noticed at least one of their party wandering about in shorts, which are really not a good idea in the Welsh mountains. Every year the mountain rescue units have to pick people up who’ve gone out walking in the hills on a bright sunny day and not taken the time to consider that it might not remain bright and sunny - one group’s preparation infamously consisted of a roll of bin bags to protect them - not likely to work! Not directly related to the original topic I know but it shows these aren’t the brightest bulbs in the office…

A good example of a entry into the annual Darwin Awards.

The railroads will do what they can to get that website removed. Railroad police troll the internet for hobo “how to” sites and then notify the servers to have them taken down.

A few years ago there was a hobo site called “dead train bums.” It had the most disgusting pictures I’ve ever seen about the things that can happen to idiots on trains. But it really was a how to site masquerading as a “don’t do this” site.

It’s culture shock…

Granted it is pretty stupid to do such a dangerous activity but you got give credit where credit is due. Given the circumstances they shot a pretty good quality video. A clear picture, steady camera work and clear sound. Quite a change from some of the other amateur train video that has been posted on this site recently.

I have to admit it was definately interesting to watch.

All things considered, they are no dumber than the generation that I grew up with in the 50’s & 60’s. Dumb? Yes! Dumber? No!.

HEY! NO FAIR!
