For those railroaders out there, if you were #1 in seniority on your railroad, what job or pool would you bid? And why?

While I am not #1, I am close enough that it doesn’t matter as I am on the job I want anyway.

From one rail to another: You’re over-qualified.

In addition, you say what you mean, and mean what you say. That type of behavior will not get you anywhere up the corporate ladder.

Assignment ‘R’ the train from Montreal, to Rigaud… Travel time, 10 minutes from my place.

First trick yard job with Saturday and Sunday off, as good as it gets for a poor ol’ railroader.

The days off don’t matter to me as much as the position itself and the hours worked. Anyone who’s familiar with my job will know what I’m talking about here: I’d like to be back on Tower A, second shift, Tuesday and Wednesday off. I held that job for quite a while, until the Number One CRO bumped me. It really sucks to be Number Two at a time like this!

(I have weekends off now, but have to spend a little time on each shift every week to make up for it.)

Oh, well, by this time next year I should be Number One. Maybe we’ll bring this thread back up so I can speak with the voice of authority.

It would depend upon my mood. Today I’d like to be back on the old H2A eastbound on the Tier heading over the hill to serve 3 customers and spend a night out of town after a night trip on the Delaware Division…

Unfortunately that’s been short lined…
