IHC has announced that they will be bringing out a 2-8-8-2 Mallet in their new Premier Gold line in HO. It will use the old Rivarossi shell, and have the same higher quality features found in their 2-10-2.[:D]
I might have to consider getting one when they come out.[:D] I always thought the RR Y6Bs looked pretty good.[:D]
Well, if it’s actually a model of a specific prototype, that will be a welcome departure from their usual “generic” offering. One wonders about their marketing accuman though in bringing out a duplicate model (N&W Y6b) shortly after BLI announced their plans to do one
Hope the 2-8-8-2 makes it to market faster than their brochure entry Challenger. Probably 5+ years ago IHC had a brochure showing their soon to be released Challenger. I’m still waiting. [sigh] Maybe this time they’ll follow through and it will not be a “stealth” model.

I hope they come out with a version for the Norfolk and Middle Earth, maybe with a special offer of 4 passenger cars in the Hobbiton and Brandybuck Western… (I couldn’t resist).
I’m waiting for this CPR Selkirk. Maybe next year?
I want to see a CGW 2-10-4 or 2-6-6-2 but preferably not from IHC.
A more fitting announcemect could have been “IHC Finally makes A Quality Locomotive” - (April Fool!).
