The IHC website paints a prretty picture of their products. Does the Mogul run as good as they say? Is it adaptable to Kadee couplers?

I can’t talk to the Mogul because I don’t have one–However, I suspect that it is the same frame as the 2-6-0 Camelback and I have two of those. Both run pretty well. No complaints. The tender takes a #5 Kaydee, but the front is a dummy. It takes either a #26 or #28 (don’t remember) and you have to tap a screw .
My best running steamer is my IHCPremier 4-4-0. It runs at 2 scale mph without jerking. That’s a 9" section in 22 second.
It’s good to hear they run well. I’m looking at a Canadian Pacific Hudson they have. (Premeir series). I called them to find out about stock and I got the impression that their phone people didn’t know very much. She said- I’m showing that back ordered through the next two runs.I don’t know whats up with that? I wasn’t filled with confidence at that point.
Make sure they have what you want before you get your hopes up.I couldn’t get any dates out of them.
I bought one used at a train show. It ran for a short time,then froze up.Has’nt run since[:(].
In my opinion, IHC makes some of the best running locomotives on the market.
They are not very detailed but are very reliable engines. go for it! [:D]
