That’s a Volkswagen isn’t it?

ESPECIALLY if it’s from the wife…

OR

the wrong road / wheel arrangement / era / road number / / Why didn’t you get me a diesel?

If you want a quick divorce…

NEVER MIND “Is it any good”… where do you get the wives that BUY you your locos?

{Stepford}???

All the IHC steam locos I have seen at the LHS have visibly deep flanges on the drivers that will not run on Code 70/55 track. Is this still true, or was this old stock? I am particularly interested in the older prototype 4-4-0 and similar.

Crandell, first off, there is NO coupler on front of the Hudson. Its a 4-6-4…my mistake. There is a smallish rectangular open ended “box” in the cow-catcher where you can install the ‘dummy coupler’ that came with the loco.

But I want a working coupler in there, not a dummy. I was going through my Walther’s catelog and found the NEM (362) European style Mount, that LQQKS like it might slip into the box on the front of the Hudson. I suppose it would be worth $4 or $8 to see if it would work. I just don’t want to have to hack and dremel away at the front of my beautiful locomotive!!!

My Lionel Challenger comes with two dummy’s, the shorter prototypical one, and a longer one for MUing. You have to pinch two retaining bumps deeper, near the end of the stem of the coupler, with a set of pliers.

Maybe your idea is worth the price and the wait. My BLI Hudson has a dummy, a short one, and it most definitely does not work for MUing, nor for shoving cars along.

I hope you get it solved.
