IHC Track

Hi all,
Does anybody have any experience with track from IHC? I will mostly use some steel and some brass turnouts. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a loop of steel track from one of their train sets. It gets the job done, but the quality is less than good. Some of the rails aren’t perfectly even in length, they need special clips (included in the set) to keep from slipping apart, and they rise up slightly at the ends. Atlas nickle-silver track most likely costs more, but I’d highly recommend using it instead for a permanent layout. It’s still pretty cheap (I’m on a tight budget and I can still afford it [:)]), but the nickle-silver is cleaner, the rails are all even in length, it’s perfectly straight (no rises at the ends), and it holds together well.[:D] I’m not saying don’t get the IHC track, I’m just saying Atlas is a little better and doesn’t cost much more.[:D]

Klicky,

Perhaps you may be on a budget but consider saving up “a little more” and purchase nickel-silver track. If you’re in HO, Atlas Code 100 or the realistic looking Code 83 track is a very good “bang for the buck”. Be careful with cheap turnouts as they can later turn into headaches (been there-done that).

Do yourself a favor, spend the money the first time and buy some Atlas track or something comperable. If you buy cheap you will buy twice. It aint worth it!
