Illinois Central 6000 on the Q racetrack.

I saw this loco on the BNSF racetrack yesterday morning still in black with IC heralds and Operation Lifesaver lettering on it. It was running as the 2nd unit with a BNSF Dash9 on an eastbound heavy freight. Not sure where it was going or if/when it will return.

This is not the first time this unit has been on the Racetrack, as I have seen it once or twice before. Must be a power sharing arrangement of some sort.

I’ve seen IC engines as far west as the Union Pacific Sunset Route in south-eastern Arizona in the past.

Yesterday afternoon IC 6000 was the middle unit on train CNIKCK which stopped at Eola to pick up a cut of cars.

Pretty sure the 6000 has made it to Proviso a time or two as well, too.
