Illinois wants east-west Amtrak route studied

Allan Fraser, you should also have your Fla. reps. wake up and get Amtrak to bring back the Sunset.

Great idea.Maybe it can run parallel along Interstate 74 all the way to where John Deere is headquarted

Jeffery D. James. 3-2-1-ZERO! Yes, Goosie is ONE BIG ZERO! So is John Rice. These bozos are sooo blinded by their loathing of subsidised passenger rail they seem to forget about the billions going into more roads that keep getting more comgested. I thiunk Iowa would be a wonderful state for these trolls.

A midstate east-west Amtrak route needs to include Decatur. It’s the largest midstate IL city without any passenger rail service, and tracks are already in place west to Springfield and east to Danville. They even continue onto Lafayette, IN. It’s refreshing to see a state working to invest in more than roads.

Once again, Goose shows the unAmerican way.

AS MR GUSE SAYS THIS IS THE CHICAGO WAY, HAS HE LOOKED AT WASHINGTON D. C. LATELY…A CHICAGO PRO RUNS USA…

Pittsburgh, Columbus, Indianapolis, St. Louis.

There is no rail line from Champaign to Danville and our state officials have no idea. What a waste of money, especially Amtrak that is hard pressed for dollars. It would cost 485 million to put the track back and IDOT has obtrained the former P&E bridge over I74 to remove it for interchange construction.

Why is it that some comments appear multiple times? Thanks

Start in Indianapolis, go to Danvile IL, then on across the state. You should also consider Indianapolis to St Louis, opening up Effingham to be a connection point for NY to New Orleans travelers, without having to go through Chicago, if you extend eastward from Indy to Cleveland or Pittsburg…
