Illinois wins Florida high speed rail money
Build a station in East St Louis? WHAT? In HSR, one wants to ELIMINATE stations, not add them! St. Louis, Alton, Springfield, Bloomington, Joliet, Chicago is all that is needed. No one has to drive more than 45 minutes to reach any of those station from the abandoned ones. By the way, the stations I would eliminate (Summit, Dwight, Pontiac, Lincoln, and Carlinville) are all unstaffed.
