…from vacation. Now I need another to recover. It was a good trip except the weather turned on us in Wyoming. We did get one day without snow/rain/wind but it was still overcast. Chris (CopcarSS) met up with us in Cheyenne and hung out for the day. That was cool. Enjoyed meeting you Chris. Unfortuneatly I didn’t get to meet RJ (miniwyo) like I planned, Sorry RJ but the timeing was all wrong because of the weather. We covered some ground though, Just under 4,500 miles for me but that includes 1200 miles of airline travel. Got lots of pix and 4 hrs of video. I’ll post some after I catch up.
So did I miss anything interesting while I was gone?
Yea Vic, Definately need a big bowl of popcorn for that one.
MS, No, Unfortuneatly the weather canceled those plans. The day we were to head up there it was like 30mph winds and snowing. We decided to head for warmer weather. I was bummed out but it just wasn’t worth fighting the elements.
Not guilty, Just JELLOUS !!! I really hope something like that can be planned for next year so some of us that didn’t make it can have a chance to join in on the fun. I did get to meet Chris and that was cool (Chris, anytime we get a chance to do it again I’m game, bad weather or not it was fun).
Meh, it happens, I heard it was pretty bad between here nad Laramie so I figured you ran into is somewhere and got pust behind and had to get to other destinations for the night. I am sorry I didn’t get to meet ya but maybe we can all plan another get together for everyone! [:P]
Well, Chad, I wish you all could have made it to Camp Mookie, too!
If you ever decide to come to Chicago (where we get almost as many trains as Camp Mookie!), do let us know.
Pat and I are tentatively planning a California trip for late March; we’ll be driving and seeing the country. California’s a big place, and we’ll be centered on the area around our daughter’s home in Carpinteria. It might be possible to meet up with you then? I had had Tehachapi on our must-see list, but my employer’s recent posting of the area has left that in doubt. The wild-and-crazy plans are for a week out, a week there, and a week back.
Well Carl, just let me know when and I’m sure I can at least get away for a day or two and play tour guide. Just don’t forget to bring lots of notepad cause you will be takeing LOTS of notes for sure.[;)]
I shot alot more video then usual on this trip then pictures. But my dad had his camera and took pleanty of digital shots. I will probably post some tommarow or the day after. I am still recovering. Got home LATE last night and had to get up early for work. I can barely keep my eyes open today.[zzz]
Cajon is a place I’ve been already, but wouldn’t mind returning to. I think that the type of train-watching I like can probably best be found in Fullerton. I wanted Tehachapi partially because Pat’s uncle, who lives in Santa Clarita, might be willing to join us.
Carl, I like Tehachapi too. If that’s where you want to go, I could probably get up there too. If Fullerton suits your kind of railfanning that works for me also. Actually I have been trying to get up there on a friday or saturday night to meet the gang that hangs out up there, I know quite a few from another board but haven’t met any in person.
