I posted this question in couple of other places, but the more ideas the better. I bought a set of the IM Double Stacks today. Checking the bottom of the wells, there is no hole for the pins on Athearn containers to fit into, and no pin for the WKW containers to sit on.[censored] Should I try to drill holes for the Athearn? (my most common container), or just glue the bottom containers in to the wells? Thanks for any ideas.

I’d say to glue them in - add some weight in the lower containers to help with stability first, I used lead sheet cut to fit inside the containers. I have three sets of the Athearn cars (2 5-unit and a 3-unit drawbar set) which all have the bottom containers glued in despite having the holes drilled (I couldn’t get Athearn containers, so used the Walthers ones which don’t have quite the same hole spacing - needed to glue them to make them stay in place). The one thing to consider is whether you will need to put these cars back into the boxes at any time for storage - if so, I would recommend weighting the containers and drilling holes for the container mounting pegs, as this will allow you to remove them should you need to. Thanks Brit. I’m leaning toward drilling holes, like you said. If I have to transport or store the cars, it’ll be easier to do if I can remove the containers. How’d you get the floors out? Mine are glued in, like the WKW floors.
