When were the 5 car sets of impact flat cars introduced into service?
I want to say mid 80’s but I am not sure.
If memory serves the Santa Fe first used ten packs of spine cars and called them Fuel Foilers. I would agree that they were first used in the early 80s.
The brand name was IMPACK to rhyme with the word Piggyback.
These Articulated Intermodal Cars were put into service between 1980-1984.
