Imperial Oil???

Hi everyone,

I don’t normally come to this form…I’m normally in the layout and DCC forms but I thought this might be the best place to find help for my question. I’m modeling the CN and CP 1954 in Midland Ontario. I live here and thought that it would be the perfect place to model as it was such a busy place back in those days.

To my disbelief, I am having a harder time finding info then I thought I would. There was Imperial Oil back then but I can’t seem to find and info on it. What came in? What went out? Some sort of track layout? If anyone can help that would be great.

Thanks

I was able to find some stuff fairly quickly on Google but I guess you are trying to delve even deeper than that. Some stuff was at the Boatnerd website which is one more railfans should know about. Most of what I found was on websites devoted to boats and shipping, in fact. Here is a shot from Boatnerd

of the Imperial Oil dock in recent times.

Among the interesting photos I found from the Canadian gov’t archives

was this neat shot which suggests there may be more good stuff in those archives:
